IRCAMAX SuperVP Collection

Based on IRCAM's SuperVP Technology* by Axel Roebel and Xavier Rodet, IRCAMAX SuperVP Collection is an innovative audio toolbox that has been in development since 1998. Transposing, stretching, sequencing, and modifying your sounds in a spectral domain will let you dream up a whole new way of making sounds and music.

Developed by the educational team and IRCAM Forum crew, IRCAMAX has been specially created around SuperVP audio engine. Scrub, Transp and Mover are classified as modifiers. SuperVPSynth is a time stretch sampler. You can easily transpose or stretch audio or carry out parallel harmonization. IRCAMAX SuperVP is going to surprise you. You will discover a more exciting and powerful live sequencer.

IRCAMAX SuperVP TechnologyIRCAMAX SuperVP Technology*:
The basic technology used in the IRCAMAX suite is an augmented phase vocoder. In order to do a phase vocoder-based sound transformation, the signal is cut into overlapping segments that are then transformed into the spectral domain using a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).
In the augmented phase vocoder this spectral representation is then split into components (sinusoid, noise, and transient) each of which is treated with adapted state of the art algorithms giving you optimum results during signal transformation. The augmented phase vocoder for speech signal transformation features IRCAM's waveform preserving speech transformation mode letting users preserve and manipulate the characteristic properties of the waveform of voice signals. After modification of the sequence of the frames these frames are inverse Fourier transformed and overlap added to create the final output signal.
